Selling extremely rare handcuffs designed by Tom Ford for Gucci. They are made of solid silver (silver hallmark 525) with the Gucci logo and the serial number 161297. The handcuffs are like new. They are a collector's item and were in a display case with me. I bought the handcuffs at the Gucci boutique in Vienna in 1998. The velvet bag (especially for the handcuffs with 2 compartments for one handcuff each) and the white Gucci dust cover are also original. As far as I know, only this pair was sold in Austria. About the history of this unique piece of jewelry: In 1998, Patrizia Reggiani, also known as Patrizia Gucci, was convicted of the murder of her husband Maurizio Gucci. Maurizio was the last family member to direct the fortunes of the Italian luxury fashion company. Reggiani had hired a hitman to kill her husband. She explained why she hired a hitman: 'I am short-sighted and would have missed.' She was angry about his relationship with a younger woman and the poor management. Maurizio Gucci died at the age of 46. On the day of Reggiani's imprisonment, the mannequins in Gucci's main store in Florence were decorated with solid silver handcuffs bearing the company logo. This provocative fashion accessory was designed by the then chief designer, Tom Ford, and made a sarcastic statement about the scandalous murder. Since then, this extraordinary collector's item has become part of the legend surrounding the famous fashion house. Very few of these handcuffs were offered for sale.
